Illegal Hiring: 270 paramedics’ jobs linked to verdict

alleging that these appointments were politically motivated.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Friday linked the status of recently hired paramedical staff in various provincial government hospitals to its verdict to a petition alleging that these appointments were politically motivated. Petitioner Imtiaz Ahmed submitted that hiring procedures were bypassed in filling 270 posts the Punjab government recently advertised in newspapers. He asked the court to set aside these recruitments. He said none of the 36,000 applicants were called for an interview. He alleged that people linked to the PML-Nawaz were hired to these posts. Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed linked the fate of these recruitments to the verdict in the petition and sought replies from the provincial government and the helath secretary. The hearing will commence in September after summer vacations.
