64 police officials dismissed following evaluation exercise

Larkana Range bags first position in Reward and Punishment Campaign

KARACHI: A Reward and Punishment Campaign was launched on the provincial level for Sindh police to evaluate their performance and reward or punish them accordingly. A report pertaining to the results of the campaign was released by the police department on Friday, which states that 4,218 officials ranging from constable to inspector were given minor and severe punishments while several others were rewarded for their performance. Larkana DIG Irfan Baloch secured the first position among all Sindh police ranges while Kashmore SSP Asad Raza was awarded the first position in all districts of police. Sindh IGP Dr Kaleem Imam applauded both of them and announced Rs100,000 cash prize and certificates of appreciation for both of them.

The report suggests that 64 police officials were dismissed during the campaign while three others were forced to retire. Besides, four police officials were demoted, the service tenure of 181 officials was cut short, warnings were issued to around 3,341 police officials and the annual increment of 625 police officials was withheld as punishment.

The report mentions that the CC 2nd reward was given to 1,114 police officials by DIGs and the CC 3rd reward was given to 8,865 police officials by district SSPs for their commendable performance in all policing affairs and operations.

Larkana Police Range secured the first position in the campaign. However, 2,183 of their police officials were awarded punishments of varying degrees. Of the 2,183 officials, two were dismissed, one was demoted, 45 police officials had their service tenure reduced, an annual increment of 246 officials was withheld and 1,871 police officials were issued warnings. Meanwhile, 779 police officials of the Larkana range were awarded the CC 2nd reward and 4,827 were awarded the CC 3rd reward.

The second position was secured by Shaheed Benazirabad Police Range and the third position was bagged by West Zone Police.

Among the districts, Kashmore secured the first position with 2,185 Kashmore police officials being awarded the CC 3rd reward. The second position was secured by Jacabobad district while Larkana district bagged the 3rd position.
