Muslims across the world are commemorating Ashura on Monday and Tuesday, the two days of the Islamic month of Muharram that mark the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 loyal companions at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680 AD (year 61 on the Islamic calendar).
