Separate wards for epidemics in Lahore General Hospital

Post Graduate Medical Institute (PGMI) Principal Alfareed Zafar announced that separate wards will be established at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) for epidemic diseases so that patients can be provided with the best possible medical facilities. He expressed these views on Saturday while addressing an awareness seminar on dengue at the Punjab Institute of Nuero Science at LGH. He added that such diseases can be controlled by taking collective preventive measures. He maintained that under the institute’s Health Education Programme, doctors from different public and private sector hospitals are being equipped to cope with the challenges of dengue while training sessions, seminars and workshops are being organised to keep their knowledge and skills up to date. He called upon citizens to maintain cleanliness in streets and in their surroundings which will ultimately help in curbing diseases. Speaking at the seminar, LGH MS Dr Mahmud Salauddin revealed that a proper record is being maintained of dengue patients at the facility.
