Rs580b laid out for 2010-11 Punjab budget

Rs580 billion have been laid out for the Punjab province, before being officially announced on June 14 in the budget 2010-11.

Before the official announcement of Punjab budget 2010-11 on June 14, Rs580 billion have been laid out for the province.


Provincial Finance Minister Tanvir Kaira is expected to announce a development plan of Rs195 billion.


According to initial reports, no new taxes have been added in the budget. The revenue collection target for the next fiscal year is estimated to stand at Rs61 billion.


Punjab will be getting Rs100 billion from the federal divisible pool under the new NFC contract.


The sectors of health, education, and agriculture of the province will be getting a total of Rs44 billion.


Rs60 billion have been earmarked for the worsening law and order situation in the province.

syed faisal imam | 13 years ago | Reply it is interesting to see punjab govt setting aside money at this stage for alternate energy for solar-powered tubewells. Instead if we introduce biogas powered tubewells worth Rs 20billion we could put in 50000 tubewells. the economics of this would be as follows: tubewell runs for 10 hours;20 liters of diesel saved Rs1600/day360 days;savingRs576000 of diesel per annum for 50,000 tubewells;savingrs Rs25b worth of diesel;$300m a year. there will also be a saving in fertiliser;there will be soil reclamation;
