Teachers and students paid tribute to martyrs of the nation

SHABQADAR/ PESHAWAR: People from different walks of lives, security forces, district administrations, teachers and students paid tribute to martyrs of the nation on Friday while observing Defence Day. They also expressed solidarity with Kashmir.

Moreover, senior government officials, office bearers and security officials paid their respects at the tombs of martyrs or visited their homes to pay their respect to their families.

The main ceremony was organised at the Colonel Sher Khan Stadium in Peshawar with national zeal and solemnity. Heavy and light armaments were put on display during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, a floral wreath was laid at the grave of Nishan-e-Haider recipient Captain KarnalSher Khan Shaheed by an army contingent led by Brigadier Muhammad Mushtaq in Nawakali.

Elsewhere, prayers were also offered for the success of Kashmiris struggling for their right of self-determination.

In the erstwhile federally administered tribal areas (Fata), the district administrations held special ceremonies while a special parade was also held on the border with Afghanistan.
