Explosion: 4 children injured in fireworks blast

FAISALABAD: Four children were injured on Thursday following an explosion of explosives buried underground in a plot on Jaranwala Raod. The injured were identified as seven-year-old Mubasir, eight-year-old Naeem, 10-year-old Mubashir and seven-year-old Bilal. Explosives buried at the plot were used in several home-based units to manufacture fireworks. According to police, the explosives heat up and went off causing the blast. They said the injured were taken to a nearby hospital. Those responsible for burying the material at the plot fled before the police could arrest them, they said.
