Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry urges the world to 'act and act fast'

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday reaffirmed Islamabad's support for the Kashmir cause and said the country will approach every possible diplomatic avenue to raise the issue.

The foreign minister added that the current curfew in the occupied valley – approaching the one month mark – is "deepening of a terrible humanitarian crisis".

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also urged the world to “act and act fast”.

According to reports in the Indian media, Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu was placed back under house arrest on Tuesday upon his return from New Delhi, where he went for medical treatment.

India had restricted his movements following its decision to scrap occupied Kashmir's special status on August 5.



The mayor had slammed the Kashmir move in an interview during which he had said that it was highly unrealistic to say everything was normal in Kashmir.
