MANCHESTER:
Manchester United defender John O’Shea is undergoing a medical at Sunderland, according to Press Association Sport. The news agency reported the 30-year-old travelled to Wearside after Wes Brown also had a medical at the club. The Black Cats had a joint bid of more than £12 million for the pair, plus midfielder Darron Gibson, who accepted in June. Boss Steve Bruce has already made six summer signings, including Seb Larsson and Craig Gardner from Birmingham. Brown, 31, and O’Shea would add experience to a Sunderland defence that was badly affected by injuries last season.
