Four killed after wall collapses 

Investigations suggest the incident occurred due to heavy rainfall and tumultuous weather in the provincial capital

LAHORE: At least four people died while two others were injured after a wall collapsed in Manawan on Sunday. Initial investigations suggest the incident occurred due to heavy rainfall and tumultuous weather in the provincial capital.

Reportedly, at least 30 boys were playing cricket in the ground in Ganja village when it started to pour. The boys suspended their match and rushed to huddle beneath a wall for shelter. All of the boys were huddled beneath the wall when it collapsed. Six of the youngsters sustained critical injuries. Of these, three died on the spot. The remaining three were shifted to Gurki Hospital where another breathed his last.

The injured were then shifted to Lahore General Hospital in critical condition. The deceased were identified as Sajid, Sajawal, Ali and Rehan while the injured were identified as Yaseen and Shakil.
