Says the prime minister is personally monitoring the tourism sector
LAHORE:
There are vast opportunities for investment in the tourism sector of Pakistan, as promotion of tourism was among top priorities of the government, said Provincial Minister of Punjab for Tourism Rai Taimoor Bhatti. He expressed these views during a meeting on Saturday between the Pakistani delegation, led by the minister, and the Bruneian Minister for Primary Resources and Tourism Haji Ali Bin Apong in Brunei Darussalam. Matters of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting in which the provincial minister briefed the Bruneian minister about the measures taken by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government for the promotion and development of tourism in the province. The tourism minister said that the prime minister was personally monitoring the tourism sector. “Punjab has had centuries of great culture and there are a number of tourist spots in the province.” He added that the provincial government is paying special attention to the preservation of archaeological sites, provision of security to tourists and the development of new spots for the promotion of tourism.
