Police bust gang of robbers in encounter

BAHAWALPUR: Police arrested four robbers, including a woman, in an encounter near the  Bahawalpur Cantt on Thursday, Express News reported.

A police constable and watchman were injured in the encounter.


The robbers tried to break into the shops in front of the DPO house early on Thursday. The woman, Shamim, drove the car along with accomplices Nazir, Ahmed and Akram.

Police constable Habib witnessed the group robbing shopkeepers. The robbers opened fire and fled the scene and took shelter in a school located nearby as soon as he reached the area.

With the help of the elite force, the police conducted an operation and arrested the robbers. Their car was also impounded by the police.

The stolen money and objects were recovered.
