Turkmenistan is a natural partner for extending the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in the trade and energy spheres.

Turkmenistan shares historical ties with Pakistan, which became one of the first countries to recognise its independence in December 1991.

This was stated by said Dadabhoy Group Director Habibullah Dadabhoy as he spoke to around a dozen ambassadors of Central Asian countries in Islamabad on Wednesday during a special lunch organised by the Center for Peace, Security and Developmental Studies (CPSD) — initiative of the Dadabhoy Group.

“We look at Pakistan as a brotherly nation, where both countries can learn from each other on so many aspects, joint initiatives on trade and energy can benefit the citizens of both countries,” said Turkmenistan’s Ambassador Atadjan Movlamov.
