Seven killed over property dispute

Enmity with over the distribution of plots.

SARGODHA: Seven persons, including three women of a family, were killed over a property dispute in Laksian police limits on Tuesday. Police said that Noordin, a resident Chak Thana Colony in Kotmomin tehsil, had enmity with his brother Akbar Khan over the distribution of plots. Reportedly, Noordin barged into his brother’s home in the early hours of Tuesday and opened fire, killing seven people on the spot. The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Akbar Khan, his wife 50-year-old Sheikhan Bibi, sons Jamal and Qamal Khan and daughter Saho and Arband Bibi. A neighbour, identified as Shamsher Khan, was also killed in the incident. After open firing on the victims, the accused shot himself in the head. Police shifted the bodies to Rural Health Centre, Midh Ranjha for an autopsy. Investigations have begun on the directions of DPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera. Meanwhile, police teams were deployed in Chak Thana Colony. Punjab Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz Khan has taken notice of the incident and asked Sargodha RPO to submit a report on the incident.
