KARACHI: Prime Minister Imran Khan decided to not hold fresh talks with India and suspend diplomatic and trade relations until the decision to revoke the special status of Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) is revoked.

During a high-level discussion in the federal capital, the premier has decided to take up the matter with heads of Pakistan’s allies – United States (US), China and Russia – including Islamic countries

The meetings are aimed at pressurising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government to uplift the curfew in the region and halt the oppression faced by Kashmiris.

PM Imran says no point in talking to India

The premier wishes for United Nations (UN) and other international forums to escalate pressure on India to put an end to the brutalities – including the shortage of food and medicines.

Pakistan will hold a discussion at the UNSC and several other forums to decide if the talks with Modi can be restored.

The federal government decided to utilise all defence options in case the Indian armed forces attack the border.

During the moot, it was decided that Pakistan would continue to observe a peaceful foreign policy and find a solution to the Kashmir dispute through dialogues, in accordance with UN resolutions.
