Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N ) leader Rana Sanaullah's judicial remand was extended by 14 days on Saturday by a narcotics court.

The senior leader will now be presented in the accountability court on September 7.

During the hearing, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) prosecutor showed footage of Sanaullah's arrest from Safe City cameras.

Earlier in July, Rana was arrested by ANF from the Islamabad-Lahore motorway near Sukheki, while he was traveling from Faisalabad to Lahore.

The ANF is responsible for curbing drug use and smuggling. It said in a statement: “We do not make arrests without reason. A large quantity of drugs was recovered from Sanaullah’s car.”

Sanaullah was shifted to an ANF police station after his arrest and was charged under the Anti-Narcotics Act.
