FGEHF begins work on housing scheme

The project would be inaugurated by the federal government

ISLAMABAD: The development work on long-standing Bhara Kahu housing scheme has finally been initiated by the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation (FGEHF). All the issues revolving around the project including a massive rough area of 700 kanal have finally been resolved. The project would be inaugurated by the federal government. Meanwhile, the price of a plot for employees has escalated to Rs4.4 million after long delays. The project which spread over 3,153 kanal was announced in 2009. The project held 3,300 plots with price of Rs0.9 milllion each. However, the project was mired into litigation and kept facing delays. It was finally cleared by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in 2018 after which the incumbent government decided to commence work on it.
