SIBI: Protests against water shortage in Sibi continued on Tuesday, with residents coming out on the streets and blocking roads in order to get their voices heard. Taking notice of the residents’ plight, Sibi Deputy Commissioner (DC) Syed Zahid Shah issued orders to rectify the water-pumping motors that had contributed to water shortage. The authorities added that water supply had been restored in certain areas after repair work. He also summoned the executive engineer (XEN) of the Public Health Engineering department to resolve the issue of dirty water mixing with the water supply. The DC asserted that water is a basic right and negligence in this regard would not be tolerated. He added that all possible measures had been taken to facilitate the people and resolve the water supply and scarcity issue.
