As 14th August approaches, the spirit of Independence reaches its height. We all feel pride in representing our homeland. This spirit is taken on by myriad brands who indulge in the sentiment of patriotism, with various interesting campaigns, every year.

This year, however, HabibMetro Bank blew us away with their campaign Badlo Bartao. The campaign is like a breath of fresh air, which breaks away from traditional concepts of independence. The bank has taken a route of communication that compels us to reflect on ourselves and makes us think about the freedom that we take for granted. It reminds us to think of our independence in a manner which we seem to overlook.



The campaign focuses on the fact that we are free, however, what we do with our freedom is something to ponder about. With the campaign launching its main video asset, the digital video pondered on the fact that we have to be the change we wish to see in the world. After all, we are free to do so!


What makes this campaign stand out is the fact that this wasn’t a commercial with actors playing their parts, rather, the children featured were all part of CSR initiatives and causes that HabibMetro Bank supports. This evidently proves a point that a noble thought can be a catalyst towards change.

Simple children with simple dreams are shown speaking their hearts out in this video that deviates from the scripted way of emotive videos we see around. This is the reason that this video managed to gain more than 2000 likes in just a short span since its release.

With this independence video of the campaign Badlo Bartao, HabibMetro Bank has also adopted a message of unity and inclusiveness, with children recruited from all walks of life, particularly the CSR causes and initiatives, supported by HabibMetro Bank, featuring the abled and disabled.

Through the campaign Badlo Bartao, HabibMetro Bank makes us think twice about the fact that the freedom we have, gives us a chance every day to change our country, just by changing our behaviour.
