Amid Kashmir tensions, actor Yasir Hussain has requested fellow artists to not look for work across the border.

Taking to Instagram, the Lahore Se Aagay actor shared, “Mein chahta hun ke Pakistan ka har artist bolay wo India ke sath kabhi kaam nahi karega. Kashmir se pyaar bhi hai aur India bhi jaana hai? Matlab sugar bhi hai aur cake bhi khana hai? (I want every Pakistani celebrity to announce they will never work with India. At one hand they love occupied Kashmir but still want to go to India. This is equivalent to that you have diabetes and still want to eat cake).”

The ‘Naach Na Jaanay’ actor went on to say, “Ab sab Pakistani artist mujhe judge karengy but I don’t care. I love Pakistan and I cry for Kashmir. Mai manta tha k art ki koi boundary nahi hoti magar shayad ab hoti hai. Unhon nei banai hai. Ab hamko bhi banani hogi. (Now all Pakistani artists will judge me, but I don’t care. I love Pakistan and I cry for occupied Kashmir. I've always believed that art has no boundaries but I think there is, and they have made it, now, we have to reciprocate)."

Pakistan said on Thursday it would ban the screening of Indian films in the country’s cinemas, as tensions between the two countries rise over the contested Kashmir region.

“No Indian cinema will be screened in any Pakistani cinema. Drama, films and Indian content of this kind will be completely banned in Pakistan,” Firdous Ashiq Awan, an adviser to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said in a tweet.

In the wake of Pakistan’s decision, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has written an open letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding a ban on already banned Pakistani artists.

It also called for the need to cut off all sorts of  bilateral relations, including diplomatic ties with Pakistan and its people, reported India Today.
