FAISALABAD:
Kiln owners have warned that they will hold a long march on July 8 and stage a protest in front of the Punjab Assembly in Lahoreto press their demand for withdrawal of sales tax from kilns. If the demand was not accepted, kiln owners and workers from across the country would march towards Islamabad and stage a protest in front of parliament on July 10, said Kiln Owners Association District President Rana Farman while talking to the media on Tuesday. He said kilns had been on strike, which had entered into fourth day, adding due to the stoppage of work thousands of daily-wage earners, who were working in the kilns, had become jobless. In spite of the protests, he said, no government functionary had bothered to hold a meeting with the striking kiln owners.
