Highway body, contractor booked for motorist mishap

He met with an accident due to repair work on the road

HARIPUR: In a first, cases have been registered against officials of the highway authority and a contractor after a motorist met with an accident owing to repair work on the historic Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) in Haripur.

Subsequently, the National Highway Authority (NHA) official acquired bail-before-arrest from a local district and sessions court.

Farhan Zaib Shinwari had filed an application with the Siraye Saleh police station that he was travelling along the highway on July 15 when he met with an accident near the Sher Khan village due to repair work on the road.

He added that the passengers in his car were injured while his vehicle was badly damaged in the accident.
