ISLAMABAD: The government is all set to launch the Agriculture Emergency Programme worth Rs309 billion by September 2019 across the country as all formalities in this regard have been met. “The project will revolutionise agriculture and livestock sectors by conserving water and soil, tapping potential of aquaculture, shrimp farming and establishing new agriculture markets to protect farmers from exploitation of middlemen,” said Agriculture Emergency Programme Focal Person Muhammad Ali Talpur. “In its recent meeting, the Central Development Working Party (CDWP) accorded approval to 13 mega development projects conceived under the programme,” he said. Final approval will be given by the Executive Committee of National Economic Council (Ecnec) in its next meeting.
