At least 10 injured in Nowshera blast
Five security personnel among the injured
At least 10 people were injured on Wednesday when an explosive device went off while it was being defused in Nowshera.
The bomb located in Azakhel Payan – a village in Nowshera district– exploded when a police officer from the bomb disposal squad tried to diffuse it.
Among the injured were five security personnel. Those who sustained injuries were shifted to Peshawar's Lady Reading Hospital, where two of the victims are reportedly in critical condition.
Soon after the incident, a search operation was launched in the area by law enforcement agencies.
Blast hits Hazara community’s shoe market in Quetta
The five security personnel were identified as Habibullah Wazir Khan, Arif Noor Habib, Naeem Khan Ghulam Muhammad, Azmat Hashmat Ali and Noorullah Noorzada.
The five civilians were identified as Abdul Aziz Azizullah, Waheed Rahmat, Habibullah Rustam, Saeed Nawab Rahmat and Hayat Abdur Rehman.
The blast comes almost a day after an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated in Quetta, inside a shoe market on Mission Road on Tuesday.
One man belonging to the marginalised Hazara community was martyred and 13 others sustained injuries as a result of the explosion.
