Micro planning for anti-polio drive

Drive targets children who could not be vaccinated earlier

ISLAMABAD: The health department has initiated micro planning for the new anti-polio campaign according to which, children who could not be vaccinated will be targeted in the first phase.

The data of children who are out of city due to summer vacations is being compiled and teams have been tasked to administer them polio drops.

Acting Chief Executive District Health Authority Dr Naveed Akhter said the number of   polio vaccination camps have been increased at bus terminals, railways stations and other spots for children who would come from other cities on the occasion of Eidul Azha so that Rawalpindi can be secured from polio.

Dr Akhter said that Rawalpindi was a polio-free city and samples in the last environmental survey on polio were found negative, which is a welcoming sign.

Giving credit to the anti-polio teams, he urged them to move forward in a more organized manner.
