The highly-anticipated upcoming film Superstar featuring Mahira Khan and Bilal Ashraf has got us all excited by releasing another musical track just before it hits the big screen.

The latest song, titled Doston, is from Momina and Duraid’s magnum opus takes us inside the world of the legendary Nadeem Baig, who lip syncs the song and boasts some dance moves with Ashraf, who is the lead.

Doston is somewhat of a treat for Nadeem fans who witness the actor perform a song in a film after a long hiatus. The track highlights an ideology of friendship with the stage appearing to be set-up as a training ground for budding actors.

We are introduced to the song by a saxophone solo. And what a great way to begin a jazzy number with the melodic smoothness of the instrument? Bilal then makes his way centre stage in an almost comedic style that slowly gets us all in the groove.

We could almost excuse the poor timing of the lip-syncs because everyone seems to be having such a great time and enjoying themselves throughout the number. The funky jazzy blues composition is by none other than the talented Shakeel Sohail and Azaan Sami Khan, which almost gives us vibes of an era long ago. Vocals by Mustahsan Khan and Mustafa Zahid hit the nail on the head and the deep vocals are surely the highlight of Doston.

Of course, no Superstar song would be complete without a glimpse of the gorgeous Mahira in a sultry black saree and red flowers in her hair. She does the whole Spanish-jazzy-desi fusion oh-so-right as she waltzes with Bilal during one of the scenes in the song. We can almost imagine dancing along the streets of Paris.

All in all, Doston is a witty, funny and classy melody which will surly impress the audience.

Superstar is being helmed by actor-director Mohammad Ehteshamuddin, known for dramas such as Udaari and Aangan. The film will play in cinemas this Eidul Adha.
