RAWALPINDI: Punjab Education Ministry has decided axe heads of schools showing dismal performance in matric examinations.

As a part of action, the school heads and teachers have been issued show-cause notices and summoned for personal hearing.

The notices have been issued under The Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act 2006 while the responsible would face strict action including sacking from job, halting in increments and such if they failed to satisfy the authorities.

School heads of four districts of Rawalpindi division including Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum Chakwal have been summoned on August 7.

Promotion committees formed

The decisions taken in educational conference have taken a real shape as departmental promotional committees (DPC) have been formed for promotion of teaching and non-teaching staff.

In this regard, the notification of four DPC committees for Rawalpindi district has also been issued.

The chief executive officer (CEO) of district education authority (DEA) would be committee’s chairman for middle to high class teachers while additional deputy commissioner general, member admin and district officer secondary would be members of the committee.

The CEO DEA would also manage promotions of employees from basic pay scale (BPS) 1 to 4.

Similarly, the chairman of DPC for female primary to middle class teachers would be District Education Officer (DEO) Male while DEO Women would be committee’s chairperson for male teachers of same cadre.
