Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that he will ask the PML-N not to arrest Jamshed Dasti, adding that he is an honourable member of Parliament.

Gilani was addressing the members of the National Assembly on Thursday.

PPP parliamentarians protested in the Assembly against the arrest of Dasti and said a house committee should be formed in this regard.

Khursheed Shah said the speaker of the house can issue production orders if Dasti is arrested. PML-N MNA Aftab Sheikh said he will apprise the house of the details of this issue after consulting the Punjab government.

Background

A case was registered against MNA Jamshed Dasti and 20 others for manhandling doctors and para-medical staff in Muzaffargarh.

Dasti’s guards had allegedly attacked doctors and nurses of Muzaffargarh District Hospital where a protest was underway against a case of medical negligence.

Speaking to Express, Dasti had denied torturing doctors and nurses at the district hospital, stating that the accused were conspiring against him.

Muzaffargarh police had arrested Dasti’s brother along with six security guards regarding this case.

Given the scene the PMs "honorable" son created by beating people up at shoaib-sania wedding, it only makes sense that the PM stand up for the right of "honorable" dasti to beat people up as and when he feels like it. These leaders are a disgrace! Who elected them BTW???
