NAB files reference pertaining to Nehr-e-Khayyam land

Mirza used a fake bank account and Omni Group chief Anwar Majeed's son Abdul Ghani Majee was also involved in the case

KARACHI: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) submitted a report before the accountability court on Friday to inform it that a reference has been filed against Hasnain Mirza and others in Rawalpindi pertaining to illegal allotment of Nehr-e-Khayyam land.

According to NAB, Mirza used a fake bank account and Omni Group chief Anwar Majeed's son, Abdul Ghani Majeed, was also involved in the case. NAB requires interrogation of Abdul Ghani for this case.

Since the cases against Anwar Majeed, others are being tried in Rawalpindi, this reference has also been filed in the Rawalpindi accountability court.

Meanwhile, an accountability court adjourned hearing of the reference against Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani and others, accused of owning assets beyond income, due to the absence of the investigation officer (IO). NAB prosecutor said IO Asif Raza was occupied at the Sindh High Court.

The hearing was adjourned till August 7.
