LDA’s development partners told to expedite land provision

Vice chairman urges development partners to meet monthly target

LAHORE: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Vice Chairman S M Imran has directed development partners to expedite the provision of land for LDA City. He said the task must be completed with the timeline given by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He was chairing a meeting to review progress on LDA City’s drive to allocate plots to 9,000 file holders of the scheme, in compliance with the directives of the SC.

He urged development partners to meet the monthly target with regard to the presentation of land for the scheme and utilise all available resources for this purpose.

“Allocation of plots to file holders is our top priority as we are accountable to the Supreme Court of Pakistan in this regard,” he observed.

“The construction of roads and development of other infrastructure in the scheme was an urgent task which should be carried out on a war footing. No delay in provision of land for carving out plots or execution of development works would be tolerated,” he added.

The meeting was informed that development charges for the file holders had been halved and collection would begin very soon.

Members of the governing body of LDA, including Maj (retd) Burhan Ali, Engineer Amir Riaz Qureshi, Lahore Development Authority Director General Muhammad Usman Moazzam, Urban Planning Additional Director General Rana Tikka Khan, Chief Engineer Mazhar Hussain Khan and other officers concerned besides the development partners of LDA City Imran Ali Bhatti, Mian Tahir Javed, Abdur Rashid, Altaf Malik and Zafar Chishti, attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, a delegation of the Lahore Development Authority’s senior officers called on Overseas Pakistanis Commission Vice Chairperson Chaudhry Waseem Akhtar at his office to discuss the pending complaints related to different housing societies of LDA and private housing schemes.

The delegation comprised Additional Director General (Housing) Ijaz Khalid Razzaq, Director (Focal Person) Asadullah Cheema and Deputy Director (Incharge of Facilitation Desk for Overseas Pakistanis, One Window Operation) Jahanzebul Hassan.
