The Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia was summoned by Foreign Office Spokesperson Mohammad Faisal on Wednesday over incidents of unprovoked firing by the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC).
The FO official also stressed upon the Indian diplomat to ensure that New Delhi follows the 2003 Ceasefire Agreement between the two countries in letter and spirit and maintain peace on the LoC and Working Boundary.

On July 22 – in the Bangsar Sector along the LOC – a 12-year-old boy Mohammad Riaz was martyred and 18-year-old Zabeeullah was critically injured.
The next day – in Hotspring, Jandrot and Banchirian Sectors along the LoC – Jan Bibi was martyred and three other civilians – Naseem, Parveen Bibi and Mr Khalid – were injured.
Dr Muhammad Faisal urged that United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) should play its role to ensure regional peace between the two states.
