Gayle antagonistic and unrepentant: WICB
Board ready to meet former captain for resolution.

The conflict between the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) and Chris Gayle took a new turn when the board claimed that the former captain has been “antagonistic and unrepentant” in the negotiations aimed at resolving the dispute, according to ESPNcricnfo.
However, the WICB said they have kept the offer of a compromise open. The board was reacting to an emotional statement from Gayle, who claimed that all attempts at reconciliation from the WICB were a “sham and a mockery”.
“The WICB reiterates its stated position, that there’s difficulty in communicating with Gayle,” the board stated. “From his latest statement it appears that he is of the unshakeable view that he has conducted himself impeccably.”
The board announced that Gayle would be made available for selection, but not if he remained inflexible.
