
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the Graduate Studies Research Board in the Syndicate Room. He said the knowledge economy was essential to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDP) and compete with the world in technological advancement.
Education for all
He said every passing year, information on a variety of subjects was doubling in the world and we have to keep students updated with modern knowledge. He said strong academia-industry links, coupled with out-of-the-box solutions and innovative ideas, would help resolve issues and alleviate poverty. “It is imperative to create interventions to reduce the import bill and to boost export,” he said.
He urged the meeting to sharpen the skills of students so that they could prove their mettle in chosen fields. He said tangible steps are being taken to improve the quality of education at the campus.
