During a visit to the facility, Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Asif Ali Farrukh stated that a female doctor is available at the facility round-the-clock. He maintained that the residents are taught various skills such as stitching and embroidery.
Farrukh added that the best possible facilities are being ensured at the facility on the orders of the Punjab government. He revealed that Darul Aman also houses a panel of lawyers who can provide legal assistance to women free-of-cost.
Moreover, air conditioners have been installed to stave off the heat. In order to ensure security, officials from the Punjab police as well as security guards are deputed outside the facility, day and night.
During the visit, Social Welfare Department Deputy Director Khizar Hayat Khan said that every possible measure to ensure the comfort of women seeking refuge should be taken. He maintained that all the needs of the women, including the provision of legal help and psychological counselling, is being taken care of at the facility.
Meanwhile, Sargodha Division Commissioner Zafar Iqbal Sheikh stated that the Punjab government is taking all possible measures to protect the rights of women in need. He said that the main purpose of visiting the facility was to personally monitor the facilities being provided at Darul Aman.
He added that the department is currently trying to make it easier for distressed women to seek shelter. It is our priority to make women in need beneficial, contributing members of society, he said.
