Key TTP commander arrested in Islamabad

Sources say Zia ur Rehman was captured last night on suspicion during raid, Express 24/7 reported.

ISLAMABAD: Security forces arrested on suspicion a key commander of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) on Saturday in Islamabad.

Sources in the law enforcement agencies told Express 24/7 that TTP commander Zia ur Rehman was captured Saturday night during a raid at a house in Sector G-11 on a tip-off.

According to security agencies, Rehman is the head of TTP’s intelligence network and is wanted in several cases across the country.

Security agencies shifted him to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Security forces claimed to have arrested several other TTP militants from various cities of the country lately.

Pakistan Radio should broadcast the gutteral last sounds he makes from Radio Pakistan into Afghanistan as a lesson ...you kill ours, Pakistan will kill yours ! Pakistan needs not be a nice guy any more !

sam | 13 years ago | Reply can everyone stop being so negative plss...give the devil the due credit he deserves!!! wev wanted, no demanded that our army and intelligence take charge of the situation..and finally theyr doing stuff.. and if we stop being so critical wel realize theyr doing a decent job.. albeit for the past few weeks only... yes there might ahve been security lapses... nothing is ful proof what matters is taking corrective action in time and they did... now i just hoe our govt has the common sense to no hand the bunch over to the US...
