KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) granted on Monday bail to a seminary teacher accused of sexually assaulting children. The two-member bench comprising of Justice Naimatullah Phulpoto and Justice Irshad Ali Shah heard the bail plea of Muhammad Alam, who teaches at a Madrassah in Korangi, and granted bail against a surety Rs200,000. Shah Alam, the complainant’s counsel, said that his client’s daughter would go for Quran classes where his child, as well as several other minor girls, was sexually assaulted by Alam. Muhammad Irfan, the counsel for the accused argued that his client has been imprisoned for four years and no decision has been taken by the court yet. He said that the complainant had changed his statement. The court, approving the bail of the suspect, ordered the trial court to take the decision within two months.
