Nazeer Khan honoured for promoting 'unbiased' journalism

Speakers highlight Khan's role in the promoting neutral journalism during his 50-year-long career

KARACHI: A ceremony was organised at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) to commemorate the services of senior journalist Nazeer Khan.

The speakers paid tribute to the services of Khan and highlighted his professional responsibilities and different aspects of his personality.

The speakers included Dr Toseef Ahmed Khan, Zahoor Ahmed Niazi, Habib Khan Ghori, Saeed Usmani, KPC President Imtiaz Khan Faran and KPC Secretary Arman Sabir.

They said that Khan played a vital role in the promotion of neutral journalism in his reporting during his 50-year-long career. The rulers and the opposition leaders have recognised this characteristic in Khan and valued it, especially Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif who have praised him a lot.

Khan is a beacon of light for the upcoming journalists, they said.
While sharing his experience and analysis of 50 years as a journalist, Khan said that a journalist can only do justice to the profession by setting aside their personal views and biases.

Khan was presented with the club's memorial shield and the traditional Sindhi cap and Ajrak.
