KARACHI:
In a shocking series of events, a girl was allegedly raped at her apartment in the city’s upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and then left unconscious and naked at the nearby Sea View beach in the wee hours of Sunday.

A case has been registered under Sections 376/337/380/34 of the Pakistan Penal Court (PPC) at Darakshan police station after the patrolling staff found her by the seashore this morning.

Police officials, investigating the incident, said that the victim was visited by two friends, identified as Kiran and Ali alias Imran, at her apartment situated in DHA Phase-VI last night. They had dinner together, which the victim claimed in the first information report (FIR) made her drowsy.

Case of girl’s abduction still not registered

She said she was then 'repeatedly' raped by the male suspect.

Ali and Kiran then allegedly took the victim to Sea View beach after her condition deteriorated further and left her unconscious and without any clothes. She said she could only remember waking up in ward number five of the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam has taken notice of the incident, seeking details from the SSP South (Investigation).

He directed the officials concerned to ensure a result-oriented probe based on the girl’s testimony and circumstantial evidence. IGP Imam also stressed upon the need to bring those involved in the crime to book at the earliest.
