HYDERABAD: Ten people were killed and 24 others injured after a passenger bus collided with a rickshaw in Sanghar’s Shahpur Chakar area on Saturday.
Deputy Commissioner of Sanghar Nisar Ahmed Memon said that seven women and three men were among those who lost their lives while 24 people sustained injuries.
“Upon coming to know of the accident, we rushed to the scene and shifted the injured for treatment,” Memon added.
He said that four of the wounded have been discharged while the rest are still receiving treatment.
Traffic accidents have become commonplace in the country as earlier on July 11, it was reported that 13 people were killed with 34 others sustaining injuries after a when a passenger bus overturned due to over speeding at Brahma Interchange near Hassan Abdal.
The bus was en-route to Lahore from Swat when the accident took place.
Authorities say that the deceased and injured have been shifted to nearby hospitals.
Rash driving and the slippery road has made the interchange prone to accidents.
