Through newspapers sealed bids for the construction of the under-pass were sought which were opened on Friday.
Thirteen firms participated in the process; however, two firms remained non-responsive therefore, stand unqualified for participating in the process. While accepting the bids of 11 firms, a committee under the supervision of CDA Works director general has been constituted. The committee after analysing the technical bids will submit its report accordingly. The committee has deputy financial advisor, roads (north) director, contracts director, QS director and roads deputy director as its members.
The head of the committee has been directed to carryout an analysis of the technical bids and submit the report shortly, so that after financial bids, work on the public welfare project can commence as the project has already been delayed.
It is pertinent to mention here that incumbent management of the CDA not only prioritised this project but also took practical steps to make it implementable. After completing of codal formalities, CDA-Development Working Party in its 43rd meeting extended the deadline for the construction of the facility.
However, it was ensured that the cost and location of the project will remain unchanged. In light of the decision, CDA through advertisements sought technical and financial bids. In the light of the committee’s report, the financial bids will be opened and work would be awarded to the lowest bidder.
