Accused in anchor’s murder sent on physical remand

KARACHI: A local court handed over Atif Zaman to police on Friday for physical remand till July 15. Zaman is accused in the dual murder case of anchor Mureed Abbas and his friend, Khizer Hayat.

The South Judicial Magistrate heard the case at city court and handed over Zaman for physical remand to police in Mureed’s murder case. The police did not produce the accused before the court. The investigation officer said that Zaman is injured and unconscious so he could not be produced before the court. He maintained that the accused is needed for interrogation and the court should grant physical remand to police. The court handed over the accused to police till July 15.
