4 killed as van plunges into ravine

At least four people were killed, including two brothers

HARIPUR: At least four people were killed, including two brothers, while 10 others were seriously injured as a passenger van plunged into a roadside gorge in the of Nara Amazai village of Haripur district on Wednesday. Police said that a local van was travelling from Haripur to Nara Amzai village carrying passengers who were due to participate in a Hatmul Quran. However, the driver of the van lost control over the wheels of the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn and plunged into a ravine. Those who were riding on the roof of the van managed to jump to safety while several people were caught inside. As a result, four people were killed and 10 others were injured with serious injuries. Locals pulled the dead and injured from the van’s wreckage and shifted them to Haripur for medical treatment.Later, after completing all legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to their relatives for burial.
