FM Qureshi in London to attend 'extraordinary' Commonwealth meeting
Pakistan will continue playing its due role in the Commonwealth, says Shah Mahmood Qureshi

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi reached United Kingdom (UK) on Tuesday night to attend an “extraordinary” Commonwealth meeting.
The 19th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers’ meeting will take place at the Commonwealth’s headquarters in Marlborough House, London on Wednesday.
Qureshi, who is on a two-day official visit to Britain, was received by Pakistan High Commissioner to UK Nafees Zakaria and other high officials at the Heathrow Airport in London.
Speaking to media before leaving for UK, Qureshi had said that he would be representing the country in the "19th foreign ministers’ meeting" of the Commonwealth in London at the invitation of British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt.
"Pakistan will continue playing its due role in the Commonwealth," FM Qureshi added.
He said that he will have the opportunity to meet his counterparts of other member states of the Commonwealth on the sidelines of the conference, adding that he will present Pakistan's report about mandates of 2018.
Besides attending the international conference regarding freedom of expression, the foreign minister will also address the Pakistani diaspora in London.
Qureshi will also highlight Islamabad’s stance on different issues during his interaction with local and international media.
The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of 53 independent and equal sovereign states and it is home to 2.4 billion people and includes both advanced economies and developing countries.
