Govt’s move to discontinue provision of home-cooked food for Nawaz irks PML-N
Imran Khan is a fascist and will be held responsible if anything happens to Nawaz, says PML-N president
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Tuesday protested against the government’s move to discontinue provision of home-cooked food for ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif – currently incarcerated in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail.
The former premier's brother and PML-N president, Shehbaz Sharif, said that the family doctor has instructed that Nawaz – being a heart patient – should be given home-cooked food to control his health and diet.
Shehbaz reiterated in his statement that Imran Khan is a ‘fascist’ and will be held responsible if anything happens to Nawaz.
The leader of the opposition also asserted that the prime minister is not only incapable of serving the nation but is incapable of handling political opposition in the country.
Five more cases against Shehbaz sent to commission: Saeed
“This is the worst level of political revenge by Imran Khan,” said Shehbaz.
PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz and daughter of the ousted prime minister has also threatened to go on a hunger strike outside Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore if her father Nawaz Sharif is not allowed to eat homemade food.
“I don’t trust these oppressors… they can mix anything in Mian Sahib’s food,” she said in a social media post on Monday. “This should not be misunderstood as a [hollow] threat because I will go through with it,” she added.
