Hideous trade: Gang of organ sellers arrested

LAHORE: North Cantonment police have arrested seven people including the ring leader of a gang involved in illegal organ transplants. The men had been running their racket for a rented house for over a year near Ameeruddin Park. The arrested people including the ring leader of the gang, identified as Dr Asif. According to police officials, the gang typically targeted the most destitute and drug addicts. Police raided the house after receiving a tip-off and caught the men “red-handed”. “A man was lying unconscious on a stretcher for operation when we raided the house,” said one police officer. One of the men arrested is an Indonesian national.
