LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) organised an awareness camp about the importance of diet for improving eyesight at Rehmat Hospital on Thursday.  Detailed diet charts, booklets and prescriptions were provided to patients suffering from different eye diseases. Punjab Food Authority Director General Muhammad Usman, Rehmat Hospital Administrator Moeen Rauf and Hospital Committee President Justice Amir Raza visited the camp and reviewed the arrangements. At the camp, thirty nutrition experts guided citizens about the importance of diet. More than seven hundred people were examined and given guidance to improve their eyesight. Experts stressed that vitamin A, found in fruits and vegetables, plays an important role in strengthening the eye’s muscles. On the other hand, an excess of fast food creates vision problems among teenagers. The Rehmat Hospital administrator said that awareness camps are educating people about importance of maintaining a healthy diet. PFA Director General Muhammad Usman said that a proper and healthy diet can control the spread of diseases.
