KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) recorded on Thursday the statement of police official Raja Tanveer, a witness in Intezar murder case. The statement of an eye witness, Madiha Kiyani, will be recorded at the next hearing on July 11.
The father of the deceased, Ishtiaq, and Kiyani appeared before the court.
A total of eight police officials of Anti-Car Lifting Cell have been arrested in Intezar murder case.
Terrorism and treason
An ATC ordered the investigation officer (IO) to present the petitioner before the court at the next hearing of cases against Muttahida Qaumi Movement founder and leaders, accused of terrorism and treason.
The accused, including Khuwaja Izhar, Farooq Sattar, Qamar Mansoor, Amir Khan and others, appeared before the court. The court expressed annoyance over the absence of petitioner in the case.
The court adjourned the hearing till August 3 and ordered the IO to present the petitioner before the court on the next hearing under any circumstances.
Naqeebullah murder case
An ATC adjourned on Thursday the hearing of two cases pertaining to the Naqeebullah murder case due to the absence of lawyers.
Former Malir SSP Rao Anwar and DSP Qamar and other accused, who are on bail, appeared before the court. Jail authorities produced the arrested accused before the court.
The statement of a witness, Inspector Shakir, scheduled to be recorded was delayed to the next hearing on August 6.
