Punjab takes stock of CPEC progress

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Minister Hashim Jawan Bakht chaired the second meeting of the taskforce to review steps being taken for the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

The moot was held at the Planning and Development Board Office on Wednesday. The purpose of the meeting was to take stock of the progress made on ongoing projects under CPEC. Participants were briefed about the progress of the Orange Line Metro Train Project and the Allama Iqbal Industrial City. The secretary transport told participants that 94% of the OLMT project had been completed and the remainder would be done by the end of the year. He said LESCO and WASA are also completing their work on a priority basis for the provision of electricity and water.

MD Small Industries also brought the participant up to speed about the ongoing process of shortlisting consultants for infrastructure development of Allama Iqbal Industrial City.
