EBM has remained a market leader in Pakistan’s branded biscuits industry. It has also continuously supported the country's youth through various educational and leadership initiatives. The brand firmly believes that youth empowerment is the most crucial step when it comes to the progress of a nation. For this reason, it has not only remained a founding partner of the School of Leadership for the Young Leaders Conference (YLC) since its inception in 2002, but has also staunchly been supporting the initiative's other endeavors year after year.
This year's 18th YLC, which commenced on the 1st of July at PC Hotel in Lahore, was a six day conference that was held at Chand Bagh in Muridke before finally coming to an end. The event hosted more than 300 promising young leaders aged between 18 and 24 from all over Pakistan; all of whom were able to gain wisdom from 50 prominent businesses, social, political and art leaders and facilitators.
Together, these young, potential leaders went through innumerable leadership training programs and skills-based workshops which were led by influential speakers looking to inspire the youth. EBM believes that the purpose of such conferences is to engage young people in important discussions related to Pakistan. They also aim to instill the confidence needed to overcome the hurdles barring their way and transcend all limits so that they may reach their maximum potential.
Talking about EBM’s role in the YLC, Shahzain Munir, Director EBM, commented, “It is the need of the hour to engage the youth of our country in something that is both productive and industrious. The advantage they will get through this forum is valuable insight derived from the experiences of various industry giants along with inspiration, so that they may pave their way towards lasting success.”
EBM has always been committed towards nourishing communities through education, health, and environmental initiatives, all with the vision of developing a self-sustaining society. This is why the conference is a medium through which the company aspires to educate and involve the youth in healthy discussions that allow for the free flow of ideas.
This year's conference aims to ‘Amplify’ the energy, exuberance and excitement that the youth experiences by interacting with prominent personalities from various sectors of business. The YLC’19 is a fusion of innovation and inspiration which urges the participants to look at infinite future possibilities. The participants at the leadership conference are made to practice the skill set of addressing management issues like communication, organising and teamwork.
Since 2002, EBM, through the YLC, has contributed over 5,000 graduates to our local landscape of over 150 cities and villages across Pakistan as well as abroad, thus creating a vast Alumni network. Many have made significant contributions back to their campuses, communities and companies in extraordinary ways. Additionally, over 105 youth-led organisations have emerged across Pakistan as a result of YLC’s Social Action Projects, thereby spreading hope and awareness about global and local challenges.
This year’s conference aims to be bigger and better with hundreds of students and young professionals from all over Pakistan getting the chance to develop the required skills and knowledge that will bring change in their communities. EBM has been a proud supporter of SOL’s initiative and hopes to witness a progressive radical change in today’s youth as a result of this conference.
