Is Kangana's sister really defending Zaira Wasim's decision to quit Bollywood?

'What is a kid supposed to do if a religion forbids them from depicting life', said Rangoli Chandel

Dangal actor Zaira Wasim has been trending since she announced her Bollywood exit to focus on her relationship with Islam.

The 19-year-old took to her social media account, most notably Facebook, informing all her followers that she is leaving the industry as it interfered with her faith and that she wasn’t truly happy with this ‘line of work’, reported Pinkvilla.

Soon after, a barrage of Bollywood stars took digs at Zaira about her personal decision, such as TV personality and actor Raveena Tandon.

“Doesn’t matter if two-film-olds are ungrateful to the industry that have given them all. Just wish they’d exit gracefully and keep their regressive views to themselves,” Raveena posted on Monday.

However, some B-town celebrities have supported her decision.  Kangana Ranaut’s sister, Rangoli Chandel, who is quite active on Twitter, asked everyone to not bully the young girl and requested them to understand her dilemma because there is hardly anything you can do when your religion forbids you from singing and dancing.

Rangoli’s tweet read, “People should stop lashing out at Zaira Wasim and try and understand her inner conflicts. What is a kid supposed to do if their religion forbids them from singing, dancing, imitating or depicting life? Rather than bullying her we must understand her dilemma.”

The social media activist continued to bring Hinduism into the picture, even though Zaira did not mention the religion in her Facebook post about feeling like she was "unconsciously transitioning out of Imaan."

“In Hinduism especially bhakti is all filled with devotional songs and dances, kathak was a dance form for temples, Mugals brought it to darbars,” Rangoli write in a separate tweet.

In her last post, Rangoli touched upon personalising religion. “We need to understand in Hinduism we need not follow any god we can form a god of our choice which is called isht devta which means personal god, today’s day and age we need to personalise religion and not follow what was established thousands years ago.”

While Zaira shot to fame with Dangal, she was also seen in films such as Secret Superstar and it was only a few days back that she completed the shooting of The Sky Is Pink co-starring Priyanka Chopra.

But the question that is yet to be answered, is whether Rangoli really came to Zaira's defense by commenting on Islam and bringing in Hinduism?  Decide for yourself.
